Lambo SV: NYC VIPs First. ~1,200hp. June 13.
The Revuelto SV gets its private New York debut Saturday — up to 1,200 hp, fixed rear wing, and ~300 units before the V12 hybrid bows out in 2028.
Private VIP showing in New York on June 13; standard Revuelto already at 1,001 hp from 6.5-litre NA V12 plus three e-motors, SV rumoured at up to 1,200 hp with fixed wing, revised splitter, and Bridgestone Race R rubber. Could be the final evolution before a 2028 successor. Reddit r/supercars is already calling it the spiritual SVJ of the hybrid age — and nobody is complaining about the noise.
Three years after the original Revuelto landed, Lamborghini is ready to twist the knife. Sources close to the Sant'Agata dealer network pin the private New York showing at June 13, with public debut likely Goodwood FoS (July 9–12) or Monterey. The standard Revuelto's hybrid V12 already puts down 1,001 hp; the SV is widely expected to push that to somewhere between 1,080 and 1,200 hp, possibly rivalling the Ferrari F80's 1,200 hp headline figure. Aerodynamically, expect a static rear wing (goodbye active aero), a deep chin splitter, and a revised rear diffuser — all functional, all downforce-first. A limited run of around 300 units is being discussed internally, which makes the Aventador SV's 1,100-unit run look positively democratic. The SV badge has historically marked the end of a generation's lifecycle: Aventador SV in 2015, Aventador SVJ in 2018 — and if the 2028 successor rumour holds, this would follow the same script. Starting price for the standard car already clears $600,000; budget accordingly. The Nordschleife prototype was spotted on barely-legal Bridgestone Potenza Race R tyres, which strongly implies a record attempt is in the pipeline.

Manthey Beats ZR1. With a 2019 Car.
A seven-year-old GT2 RS with Manthey Kit went to Corvette's home track and took the Road Atlanta production record with 690 hp — the ZR1 has 1,064.
GT2 RS (991.2) Manthey Kit: 1:22.649 at Road Atlanta, beating the Corvette ZR1's 1:22.82 by 0.2 seconds; GT3 RS Manthey (992.1) set fastest NA production-car time at 1:23.932; new GT3 (992.2) Manthey did 1:24.639. Carbuzz summed it up best: Porsche took a 518 hp GT3 RS and beat two Corvettes with double the horsepower at the Nürburgring earlier this year — now it's done it again on American soil with an even older car.
Jörg Bergmeister drove all three cars. The GT2 RS's lap is 2.2 seconds quicker than its own 2019 benchmark at the same track without Manthey aero — proof of how transformative the suspension and downforce package really is. The GT3 RS with Manthey Kit generates up to 1,000 kg of downforce, which Bergmeister described as putting cornering speeds 'on the level of GT-class race cars.' Chevrolet, for its part, has not yet used a professional racing driver for any of its record attempts — a detail the Rennlist community has noted at considerable length. The Manthey Kit is available through Porsche-certified US dealers and does not void the factory warranty, which makes it uniquely accessible for track-day regulars who want GT3 R pace without the GT3 R bill. With a 992.2 GT2 RS expected to debut with a hybrid powertrain and well over 700 hp before Manthey touches it, these records are likely only temporary. The next 911 GT3 may go turbocharged too — which makes the current NA era feel increasingly precious.

Official: The 911 Will Never Be Electric
Porsche CEO Michael Leiters draws a line in the sand — the 911 stays combustion and hybrid only, no full EV, full stop.
Leiters made an unambiguous public statement ruling out a battery-electric 911; future 911 generations will use petrol and hybrid powertrains only. The flat-six faithful can exhale — though the Rennlist thread on a possible turbocharged GT3 is rather less relaxed.
The statement from Leiters is the most definitive kill on EV-911 speculation to date, ending years of persistent rumour that Porsche would eventually electrify its flagship. The 911's rear-engine layout and emotional character have long made a pure EV transition technically and commercially awkward — the Taycan already handles Porsche's EV ambitions. Hybrid powertrains are confirmed as the direction: the 992 Turbo S already features mild-hybrid assistance and the next-gen GT2 RS is expected to deploy a full hybrid system with over 700 hp. Separately, the community is wrestling with reports that the next naturally aspirated GT3 could go turbocharged due to global emissions tightening — which would make the current 9,000 rpm flat-six the last of its kind. If true, Leiters's statement about 'petrol and hybrid' has a sting in its tail for the purists.

Toyota's Mid-Engine Ghost. AWD. Still Years Out.
Toyota is genuinely developing a mid-engine, all-wheel-drive sports car — spiritual MR2 successor, real engineering programme, zero timeline.
No powertrain specs or on-sale date confirmed, but multiple sources describe an active engineering programme rather than a concept exercise. Given Toyota's GR track record — GR86, GR Yaris, GR Corolla — the committed-petrolhead crowd on Reddit r/cars is cautiously optimistic rather than dismissive, which is unusual for a rumour this thin.
The MR2 last sold in 2007 and its absence has been a recurring source of frustration for the GR faithful, who have watched Toyota produce increasingly credible driver's cars without a mid-engine entry. A mid-engine AWD layout would put any successor squarely against the Alpine A110 and Lotus Emira in positioning, though Toyota's hybrid expertise could allow for a more sophisticated powertrain than either. GR Yaris's four-cylinder GR-Four AWD system has proven that Toyota can do proper driver's-car engineering at accessible price points; scaling that up to a mid-engine platform is the logical next step. No price, no power figure, no reveal date — but the fact that it's described as a genuine engineering programme rather than a concept study is the meaningful detail here. Gazoo Racing's track record at the Nürburgring (GR010 Le Mans winner, GR Yaris ring run) suggests they would not pursue this without intending to build something worthy. One for the watchlist.
